KOEN LUYCKX
Koen Luyckx is een zelfgeleerde kunstenaar uit Leuven. Zijn eerste werken waren sculpturen in gemengde technieken rond de dualiteit van het menselijk bestaan: lichtheid en duisternis, creatie en vernietiging, esthetiek en misvorming, emotie en ratio… Sinds oktober 2023 schildert hij om met rouw om te gaan. Zijn schilderijen gaan over menselijke emoties en de inherente contradicties daarin, met een melancholische ondertoon. Hij werkt op canvasgetextureerd papier (40×50 cm; 50×70 cm) met acrylverf, olieverf en houtskool.
Koen Luyckx is a self-taught artist from Leuven. His first pieces were sculptures using mixed media on the duality of human existence: lightness vs. darkness, creation vs. destruction, esthetics vs. deformity, emotion vs. ratio, …. As of October 2023, he started to paint to cope with grief. His paintings deal with human emotion (and the inherent contradictions in them), with a melancholic undertone. He paints on canvas-textured paper (40X50cm; 50X70cm) using acrylics, oil, and charcoal.
Koen Luyckx est un artiste autodidacte originaire de Louvain. Ses premières œuvres étaient des sculptures en techniques mixtes explorant la dualité de l’existence humaine : légèreté et obscurité, création et destruction, esthétique et difformité, émotion et raison… Depuis octobre 2023, il s’est tourné vers la peinture pour traverser le deuil. Ses toiles traitent des émotions humaines et de leurs contradictions inhérentes, avec une teinte résolument mélancolique. Il peint sur papier texturé toile (40×50 cm ; 50×70 cm) à l’acrylique, à l’huile et au fusain.

Emilie Szymkowicz is an emerging artist based in Liège (Belgium). She creates contemporary abstract paintings that explore transformation as an existential process, linked both to time and to life’s turning points. For her, art is a powerful source of freedom: the freedom to experiment, create and transform perspectives. Each artwork navigates contrasts between spontaneity and control, harmony and chaos, disappearance and trace.
Emilie Szymkowicz est une artiste émergente basée à Liège (Belgique). Elle crée des peintures abstraites contemporaines qui explorent la transformation comme processus existentiel, lié à la fois au temps et aux tournants de la vie. Pour elle, l’art est une puissante source de liberté : la liberté d’expérimenter, de créer et de transformer les perspectives. Chaque œuvre navigue entre les contrastes, spontanéité et contrôle, harmonie et chaos, disparition et trace.

Ze maakt hedendaagse abstracte schilderijen die transformatie verkennen als een existentieel proces, verbonden met zowel de tijd als de keerpunten van het leven. Voor haar is kunst een krachtige bron van vrijheid: de vrijheid om te experimenteren, te creëren en perspectieven te transformeren. Elk werk beweegt zich tussen contrasten — spontaniteit en controle, harmonie en chaos, verdwijning en spoor.

Corry MacDonald (b. 1971, Edmonton, Canada) is a contemporary mixed-media artist and expressionist. Her work celebrates nature and beauty, inviting viewers into an intuitive remembrance of their surroundings. MacDonald’s mixed-media process includes collage with maps, intuitive marks, and oil paint to create atmosphere. After a 30-year journey as an art therapist and author, she returns as a professional artist. Now in Belgium, her works are held in collections across Canada, the USA, and Japan.
Corry MacDonald (née en 1971 à Edmonton, au Canada) est une artiste contemporaine expressionniste spécialisée dans les techniques mixtes. Son travail célèbre la nature et la beauté, invitant les spectateurs à une reconnexion intuitive avec leur environnement. Le processus de création en techniques mixtes de MacDonald intègre des collages de cartes, des marques intuitives et de la peinture à l’huile afin de créer des atmosphères évocatrices. Après un parcours de trente ans en tant qu’art-thérapeute et autrice, elle revient aujourd’hui à sa pratique d’artiste professionnelle. Installée désormais en Belgique, ses œuvres figurent dans des collections au Canada, aux États-Unis et au Japon.
Corry MacDonald (°1971, Edmonton, Canada) is een hedendaagse mixed-media kunstenaar en expressionist. Haar werk viert de natuur en de schoonheid van het alledaagse en nodigt de kijker uit tot een intuïtieve herbeleving van zijn omgeving. In haar artistieke proces combineert ze collages met kaarten, intuïtieve markeringen en olieverf om sfeer en gelaagdheid op te roepen. Na een loopbaan van dertig jaar als kunsttherapeut en auteur keert ze vandaag terug naar haar praktijk als professioneel kunstenaar. Ze woont momenteel in België en haar werk maakt deel uit van collecties in Canada, de Verenigde Staten en Japan.
ALEXANDRA DAOUST
Alexandra est artiste photographe, née en 1982. Un jour, ses images racontent l’abstraction d’un mouvement coloré ; le lendemain, elles captent le silence d’un arbre ou l’ironie d’un détail urbain. Elle pratique souvent la technique de la multiple exposition, lui permettant de transcender les frontières entre réalité et imaginaire. D’un naturel timide, la diversité de ses séries est son langage. Depuis 4 ans, son travail est exclusivement réalisé au smartphone.
Alexandra is a photographer and artist, born in 1982. One day her images tell the story of an abstract, colourful movement; the next, they capture the silence of a tree or the irony of an urban detail. She often works with multiple exposure techniques, allowing her to transcend the boundaries between reality and imagination. Naturally reserved, the diversity of her series is her language. For the past 4 years, her work has been created exclusively on a smartphone.

De ene dag vertellen haar beelden het verhaal van een abstracte, kleurrijke beweging; de volgende dag vangen ze de stilte van een boom of de ironie van een stedelijk detail. Ze werkt vaak met meervoudige belichtingstechnieken, waardoor ze de grenzen tussen werkelijkheid en verbeelding kan overstijgen. Van nature bescheiden is de diversiteit van haar series haar taal. De afgelopen 4 jaar wordt haar werk uitsluitend gemaakt met een smartphone.
